New AI-Powered Tool Oncura™ Launches to Address a Community Challenge in Cancer Care Navigation and Patient Communication
McLean, VA — January 25, 2026
YouEmpowered is proud to announce the birth of Oncura. This innovative AI-assisted platform is designed to alleviate the "navigation overload" that follows a cancer diagnosis and to streamline communication between patients and oncologists.
Every year, over 2 million Americans receive a heart-wrenching cancer diagnosis. For many, the immediate burden of finding the right oncologist while managing a high-stakes, time-sensitive illness is overwhelming. Research shows that nearly one-third of patients who seek second opinions do so because of dissatisfaction with their doctor’s communication style.
Oncura addresses these systemic challenges through two integrated, patient-first modules:
-
Preference-First Oncologist Matching: Unlike traditional tools that focus solely on insurance and location, Oncura uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) to rank doctors based on patient-stated preferences, such as communication style, emotional support, and clinical experience.
-
Intelligent Symptom Tracking & Visit Summaries: Patients log symptoms via intuitive sliders or 60-second voice journals. The AI then translates these entries into a "visit-ready" summary, ensuring important trends are not forgotten during short, 20-minute outpatient appointments.
"Our goal is not to replace clinicians or automate medical decisions," says the Oncura development team, spearheaded by Caleb Han. "Instead, we use AI to reduce search friction and translate day-to-day patient experiences into structured, reviewable information".
The platform was built with a strict focus on Responsible AI, incorporating traceability checks to prevent "hallucinations" and ensuring that every summary point is directly grounded in the patient’s own logs. By prioritizing transparency and patient independence, Oncura empowers families to make informed decisions with clarity and confidence.
Today, we are honored to hand-deliver 700+ Virginians' petition signatures to protect cancer research funding to Senator Mark Warner's office.
December 8, 2025
Thank you to the wonderful staff representing Senator Mark Warner for speaking with volunteers from the Virginia American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) today about the critical need to #ProtectCancerCures. We delivered the signatures of hundreds of Virginians supporting the petition to protect the infrastructure needed to continue making the advances we must as we search for new treatments and cures. As the petition notes, “Cuts to research funding, workforce reductions, and spending freezes all jeopardize progress in the fight against cancer. The president’s budget proposal calls for devastating cuts to research funding and completely eliminates programs that help detect cancer early. But we can’t go back. Cuts have consequences.” Thank you, Senator Warner, for championing lifesaving cancer research funding.
