About BCU
Blood Cancer Mission is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the mission to cure blood cancer and improve the quality of life of blood cancer patients around the world. BCU funds the most breakthrough blood cancer research, and provides free information and support for patients who cannot afford treatment themselves.
Grassroots policy advocacy
Our team has participated in grassroots legislative outreach to protect affordable healthcare for blood cancer patients and raise awareness about critical healthcare tax credit legislation. Through social media campaigns and direct outreach, we share patient stories and mobilize community members to contact their Congressional representatives.
How you can help
Blood cancer patients are opening their 2026 health insurance renewal notices and seeing massive premium increases. It's time for Congress to set aside politics and do what’s right. Help us find stories of folks who purchase health insurance on the ACA Marketplace. Send personalized emails and make phone calls to your Congressional Representative. Fundraising as a Student Visionary
We were inspired by the efforts of BCU and became Student Visionaries for Blood Cancer United. As organizers for BCU, we planned multiple outreach efforts to raise funds for policy advocacy, cancer research, and patient support. Our teams raised money through various initiatives, ranging from bake sales to corporate sponsorships. We also rallied support from fellow students and community members using social media and school announcements, helping spread awareness of the shared cause between us and BCU. Our team raised $40,000 over the two years!
It was incredible to see that teenagers can effectuate such meaningful social impact without college degrees or professional experience.
